Not A Very Smart Donkey!

I have a stupid donkey! Every now and then I let all the animals out in the back yard to graze and have fun like knock over my porch furniture, you know to give them something different to do. I went out the back door to see what their up to cause I can’t trust any of them when I saw Dunkay eating my artficial flowers on my table. HELLLOOOO….they are fake flowers! By the time I grabbed them out of his mouth, a 1/4 of them were already gone! I mean, they’re cloth for goodness sake! I’m sure they didn’t taste good! Why would he eat fake flowers?? Stupid donkey!

Hi Ho-Hi Ho, off to the Vet we go

So…how did you and Chad spend your afternoon together you ask? Well….we took 3 cats and 2 dogs to get a $15.00 rabies vaccination in MC. The cats who were angrily imprisoned in the back of my Jeep, meowed or should I say, ‘screeched’ all the way there with an occasional spat between them, Bouncer and Chippie were fighting for my lap, trying to stick 2 heads out one window…oh and the best …part, Chippie our 4lb Chihuahua had never been on a leash before and he yipped in a high pitch ‘these abusive people are killing me, HELP’!  Yep we managed to turn many heads as folks waiting in line snickered at the small, loud circus walking past them! Bouncer chocking himself on the leash, 3 cats screeching and Chippie…well you know what he did! At least it gave the Vet and his staff a chuckle, helping to break up the hum-drum of a long day for them! Glad we could amuse so many strangers in one day!

Chick chick loves dog bones! (wrote Nov 12th 2009)

Ok, now I’ve seen it all! Chick chick snuck up behind Tribble, pecked his behind, took his rawhide bone and ran away with it! Why a chicken would want a dog bone is beyond me! She then sat by her wooden coop that looks like a miniature house & picked away at it!!

Every time I let the dogs out, she runs behind them and sits in the yard sunning herself along side all 3 pooches! The chicken who believes she is a dog! If she starts to bark I will not be shocked, I will wonder thou, ‘what took you so long’??

The escaped horses!!

So what’s new in the farm life you ask??? Well, let me tell ya! I was making the bed when the dogs started to go crazy barking and running in circles. I could hear multiple car horns honking in front of my house…my Farmer Nancy instinct screams, “OH NO” and I quickly look out the arched window just in time to see Sparky our white horse running down the street with 3 ladies chasing her! Following close behind them is Lacie the fat brown horse! I run downstairs, put on my now running shoes and out the door I go! I run to the gate as the horses are now galloping full speed along the outside of our fence. I have a brave lady running after them and 2 more ladies standing in my driveway, a look of amusement mixed with , ‘man it sucks to be you right now’ on their faces. I ask a smiling lady to please watch my gate so the Llamas won’t join the escapees in the ‘free-for-all….Dunkay was running back and forth in the field following the horses while the Llamas were at the gate stomping their feet waiting for their chance at freedom! Oh woe is me! I sprint from one end of the field to the other as the horses kept changing direction. A brave neighbor was chasing them, frantically waving her arms at the horses who were ignoring her at the opposite side of the pasture from were I was! I grabbed a cup full of grain on my way to the other field as the horses were still doing the zig-zag dance. Oh but the tasty goat food is always too much for Sparky, she will follow it anywhere at anytime, she gave up her freedom for a handful of food and Lacie, well she followed Sparky cause that’s what she does! I realized something today…I’m too fricken OLD to be running with horses and keeping my dignity in front of ladies who I don’t know!
